Join us as Senior Manager, Performance & Business Management in London

  • You'll be managing the Private Banking Services (PBS) Performance and Business Management team, with responsibility for financials, business management, people and strategic projects 
  • In this role, you'll need to show a deep knowledge of the global Private Banking industry and the impact of this on business strategy, with experience in a multitude of locations and across cultures

What you'll do

We'll look to you to lead the teams responsible for strategic projects, business performance (change, run and indirect financials) and business management. You'll provide leadership of business planning, to include coordinating, analysis, interpretation and provision of information, often within tight timescales.

In this role we'll look to you to:

  • Work closely with front office stakeholders and client councils to ensure services delivered support market leading client satisfaction and support business strategy 
  • Lead teams responsible for the actuals, forecasting and budgeting processes for Private Banking Services partnering with RBS Finance 
  • Materially improve understanding and confidence in financial and people MI 
  • Oversee the redesign and management of PBS processes for the management of controllable expenses to increase accountability, transparency and returns 
  • Oversee development and implementation of the PB Services staff engagement, training and communications strategies 
  • Oversee design, development and implementation of PBS 3 year strategic plan including budget, footprint, capability, risk management and client service 
  • Drive the PBS innovation agenda through design, workshops, funding requests and transition to implementation 
  • Develop and execute a front-to-back road map to deliver the future 2020 PBS business model 
  • Keep up-to-date and ahead of other Financial Service institutions' offerings, in order to benchmark ourselves and to support with defining and influencing the PBS Strategy

The skills you'll need

We're looking for a strategic thinker, with a high aptitude for strategic planning and development. It's vital you have a strong background in either strategy consulting or Financial Services, and the proven ability to attract, retain, lead and develop high performing teams. It's vital you can show a deep knowledge of the global Private Banking industry, and the impact of this on business strategy. What we also need is experience leading multi disciplinary high-performing teams across multiple locations and cultures (to include Zurich, London, and Bristol).

You'll also show: 

  • A strong understanding of trends in Private Banking Technology, Operations and Change Management 
  • A proven ability to develop working relationships both internal and external through excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Experience leading teams responsible for strategy, people, financials and business management 
  • The ability to formulate logical, well considered concepts, conclusions and recommendations
  • Outstanding influencing and negotiation skills and highly effective communication (both written and verbal) 
  • Proven ability to lead teams with responsibility for complex reporting, forecasting and budgeting processes across multiple functions, locations and currencies 
  • A strong network already formed across Coutts and RBS is a distinct advantage 
  • Good problem solving skills and the ability to interrogate and analyse information to generate strategic solutions 
  • Relevant degree in Finance / Accounting / Commerce
