The Business

Join us as a Tax Technical Lead in Bristol

  • For an adaptable individual with a proven reputation for success looking for a fresh challenge, this is a fantastic opportunity to join the Tax Reporting team within the Tax, Probate & Investments division 
  • You’ll be responsible for supporting management with the production of the tax reporting documentation, incorporating annual year end tax reports, certificates, non-resident reports as well as the non standard and deceased reporting
  • Your role will be crucial to meeting the team’s objectives of timely and accurate delivery of the aforementioned tax documentation

What you'll do

You’ll analyse individual accuracy and you will identify continuous improvement opportunities. Acting as subject matter expert, you’ll handle a diverse array of queries, ensuring action is taken to maintain standards and resolve issues through successful resolution of identified tax reporting issues. 

Your role will involve:

  • Proactive detection and prevention of errors within our tax reporting documentation and stakeholder interaction across the business to facilitate issue resolution
  • Supporting the department management team on operational projects and business as usual delivery
  • Demonstrating flexibility and agility through your coaching and support, to ensure the team collectively delivers its outcomes
  • Complying with all RBS policies, and delivering against statutory, regulatory, supervisory and legal obligations

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, who has a winning combination of eye for detail combined with the ability to focus broadly on the holistic view for any given situation. We’re looking for someone with excellent technical and analytical skills. In addition, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of the taxation of investment income and calculation of capital gains and losses. With fantastic interpersonal skills, you’ll possess the ability to coach and train others, communicating complex information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Be meticulously organised, able to manage your workflow and prioritise effectively
  • Have a strong client focus
  • Possess the enthusiasm to drive continuous improvement, challenging existing processes to identify effective solutions
