The Requirements

We're looking for a Pensions Product Manager to join the Financial Planning Products team in Bristol or London

  • In this role, you'll be responsible for supporting our front line staff with our financial planning product propositions, particularly pensions

What you'll do

You'll help to identify new and emerging trends in the pensions markets, and help to develop and maintain our proposition to be fit-for-purpose in the market segments we serve, including:

  • Identifying, evaluating, developing and promoting new regulated products and propositions
  • Maintaining a suite of product recommendations lists
  • Reviewing MI, including complaints data, in order to understand trends in client feedback and consider service improvements
  • Investigating and responding to enquiries from advisers on your product set
  • Mitigating regulatory and business risk
  • Project managing new initiatives effectively, and pro-actively participating in work groups

You'll help to maintain relationships with relevant regulated product distribution channels and key strategic partners, and you'll communicate any relevant regulatory, legislative, market, procedural changes and development within your product set. You'll have an awareness of the strategic focus of the bank, trends within the external market and potential development areas. Additionally, you'll build relationships with and respond to technical enquiries from front line staff, internal departments and external providers.

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll have an understanding of the whole UK wealth structuring space, particularly the pensions market, it's products and propositions available. You'll also bring knowledge of the associated governance and risk, and a clear understanding of routes to market. This will be supported by your understanding of the tax treatment of pensions and other wealth structuring solutions, and you'll be able to help communicate this effectively to all advisers and support staff.

Importantly, you'll demonstrate:

  • An understanding of how pensions products are used in a wealth management context, along with other wealth structuring products
  • Good relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work as a team member and to train and coach advisors
  • A diploma in financial planning or equivalent
