The Business

Join us as a Trust Administrator in Bristol

  • Take on a specialist role with great development potential in our Trust Administration team and build outstanding relationships with our clients across Coutts, RBS and NatWest
  • If you're part way through your STEP diploma we can provide support to help you complete the final stages
  • You'll be joining the UK's largest Trust Administration business and developing your career in a team culture which isn't about hitting targets, but is focused on building trusting relationships and delivering a first class client service
  • You'll be based in our Bristol office, just five minutes walk from the Bristol Temple Meads Station and close to the sights and amenities of the city centre

What you'll do

In this role you'll be administering a range of trusts, and acting as key point of contact for clients and intermediaries. This will involve developing a deep understanding of our clients' needs and working to deliver a world class customer experience.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Ensuring all requirements are met and the bank's regulations are adhered to
  • Calculating trust tax liabilities (inheritance tax, capital gains tax, income tax) and preparing tax certificates
  • Maintaining a high level of industry knowledge in order to provide swift solutions for a variety of queries

With the ability to work independently, you’ll undertake a diverse array of specialist technical duties, using relevant tools, techniques and processes. You'll act as the day to day point of contact for clients where you'll strive to develop strong client relationships, based upon transparency, trust, and simplicity. You'll be providing a vital channel of communication, conveying necessary information and professionally managing client expectations.

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone who is either part of fully qualified with the STEP diploma (in England and Wales or Scotland). If you're part way through the 4 STEP papers we can support you financially to complete the ones that remain as part of this role. As such, we're keen to hear from both experienced trust administrators, but also people who have the passion and enthusiasm to keep developing their trust expertise.

You'll need an evolving understanding of inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax and the sharpness to keep up with developments in the industry. If you have a background in accountancy and you're looking for a new challenge we'd like to hear from you.

Having the ATT qualification with inheritance tax, trusts and estate papers would be an advantage, as would having a high level of specialist technical or taxation knowledge gained in the trust field.

We'll also look to you to demonstrate:

  • Outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • A strong client focus and excellent attention to detail in your work
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills and the enthusiasm to keep learning and developing
