The Business

Join Coutts in London as a User Experience Team Lead

  • This role will see you leading a small team of interdisciplinary UX professionals to help us deliver an outstanding customer journey, and transform the Private Banking client-facing channels
  • You'll meet objectives by leading others as well as taking a hands-on approach across the early cycle of UX through to wireframe delivery

What you'll do

We'll look to you to lead the User Experience team to deliver high quality and impactful client experiences across all our client-facing channels in Private Banking. You'll translate business requirements and core concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.

You’ll earn the confidence of your customers with clear expertise in your field – which you’ll maintain through proactive formal and informal learning – and astute advice communicated well.

As well as this, you'll:

  • Support the delivery of product vision by researching, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups optimised for a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Collaborate with other UX professionals as well as product and platform specialists, SMEs, end users, and senior stakeholders 
  • Use critical thinking skills supported by evidence and metrics to cut through complexity, and make sound decisions and recommendations that are carefully balanced against risk

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with a restless focus on improvement, able to use the full extent of your knowledge and creativity to drive both incremental and radical innovations. You'll have extensive UX experience with a preference for designing elegant solutions for retail or consumer facing fintechs. You'll also
have experience designing for responsive and mobile native.

As well as this, you'll demonstrate:

  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, and Framer
  • The ability to work with stakeholders and product owners to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet those needs and vision
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
  • A solid grasp of user-centred design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns
  • The ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to accept and use feedback constructively
