Private Banker, Coutts

Cambridge, United Kingdom

The Requirements

Join us as a Private Banker in Cambridge

  • This role is chance to become a trusted adviser to a portfolio of remarkable clients
  • You'll deepen and broaden your relationships with your existing clients in order to introduce other specialist areas of Coutts and RBS
  • You’ll be an ambassador for Coutts, continually promoting our image, reputation and credibility, while enjoying real variety in your work

What you'll do

You'll be responsible for managing and growing a profitable portfolio of high value, complex credit clients, delivering agreed activity, growth and business targets independently. You’ll build relationships and trust to enable you to identify, understand and help resolve their business and financial needs. You’ll develop and maintain an outstanding financial, market and macroeconomic awareness that’ll enable you to become a trusted adviser to our clients, providing sound advice, tailored to each of their individual requirements.

You'll also:

  • Develop and implement a sector and client plan for your own portfolio to grow our business in the region
  • Deliver exceptional client service as measured by client experience metrics
  • Work in conjunction with credit analysts, mortgage specialists, wealth managers, wealth analysts and specialist advisers to provide a seamless client service
  • Ensure first class regulatory compliance and risk management across the portfolio

The skills you'll need

Your role will be based on interaction with our clients, so strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, allowing you to build networks both internally and externally in order to exceed their expectations through outstanding service.

It’s preferable to be CeMAP qualified, currently authorised to provide mortgage advice, and to be able to hit the ground running. However, we would actively consider applications from people with a strong track record as a commercial banker, who are very well-connected in the region. Growing our client base around Cambridge, and the broader East of England market is central to the role, so you’ll need an active network of introducers and sources of HNW/UHNW private clients.

We’ll also expect:

  • An appropriate qualification in accordance with the FCA training and competence handbook, covering the advice of regulated mortgage contracts
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience analysing financial information, enabling you to foresee any potential issues and recognise important opportunities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

How we'll reward you
