What you'll do

You’ll be responsible for supplying Investment Operations technical expertise as you gain a full oversight of the wider Private Banking Operations channels and propositions. As a senior role, you’ll work closely with our Stakeholders from across the business to provide a seamless end-to-end client journey. On a day to day basis, you’ll act as an Investment Operations SME on the Exceptions processes and point of reference, developing resources in response to MI trends and queries received.

Utilising your strong stakeholder management skills, you’ll build and maintain effective working relationships, collaborating across multiple internal departments and lines of business to implement change where areas for improvement have been identified. You’ll also support the department management team on operational projects and delivery as required. You’ll have a significant role to play in risk mitigation, managing any established issues, and you'll ensure mechanisms are in place to identify any potential problems in the future.

You'll work on your own initiative to resolve problems but you'll also have the support of the wider team, and you’ll provide support for your colleagues on projects and system testing as required. You'll also continually help develop a network of internal and external stakeholders.  All of our Operations roles exist to support our Bankers and Wealth Managers in delivering on promises for new business opportunities, attracting new and potential clients to help the business grow. 

What you'll bring

To be successful, you’ll be extremely organised and possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment, adapting quickly to an ever changing work schedule. With a strong communication style, you’ll work well in a team but be equally as efficient working on your own initiative.

A broad understanding of investment products and markets is required in order to successfully undertake the role and to meet the demands of the many queries and issues with which you will engage. You will most likely already have a network of contacts within the RBS Brands including Coutts & Company, Private Client Advice & Investment Services and Adam & Company, which you will enhance while undertaking this role.

The ability to make sound decisions drawn from complex analysis is key, along with investigation, escalation and reporting of incidents in line with our frameworks to resolve matters in a competent and timely manner.

You will support downstream operations and work closely with the Investment Operations management team. You will have knowledge of the following technical requirements and an ability to oversee their completion on a daily basis by a small team of dedicated professionals.

  • Knowledge of investment products, including ISAs, Managed and Unmanaged portfolios, SIPPs and Offshore Bonds.
  • Management of work flow and resources.
  • Technical understanding of IT processes and regular testing of Avaloq.

This role falls under Conduct Rules of the Individual Accountability Regime (IAR) and is subject to pre-employment screening.
